Why Juju Suede is Different
Suede has always been admired for its soft texture and refined look. But if you’ve owned a classic suede piece, you probably know its biggest weakness—water. Traditional suede can be delicate, prone to stains, and tricky to maintain.
At Juju, we set out to change that.
Our suede isn’t like the usual kind. Each bag is treated through a careful tanning method. In this process, the very top layer of the suede is sealed, giving it built-in resistance to water. Instead of soaking through, light rain or small spills will simply bead up and roll off, helping keep your bag safe while you’re on the go.
That said, water-resistant doesn’t mean waterproof. Juju suede is made for daily use, tolerating the occasional sprinkle, but keep it dry most of the time, and definitely don’t take it swimming with you.
Caring for Your Suede Bag
To keep your bag looking its best:
-
Let any water drops dry on their own—avoid using heat.
-
Store it in its dust bag when not in use to shield it from moisture and dust.
-
Skip waterproofing sprays or other treatments, since Juju suede already has its protective finish.
-
If you would like to freshen up your suede, periodically use a gentle suede brush and brush with the grain to loosen dirt, and gently use a suede buffing block to bring lustre back.
Our aim is to create bags that are beautiful, practical, and long-lasting. Pieces that move with you through everyday life, without the usual worries that come with suede. Enjoy all the luxury of suede, plus a little more peace of mind.
